The High Court or Court of Sessions may direct any Magistrate to levy the amount due on a bond for appearance or attendance at such High Court or Subs. by Act 25 of 2005, s. 40, for “at its discretion” (w.e.f. 23-6-2006). Court of Session.
Sections of the CRPC are not classified one by one by any First Schedule. Part II of the First Schedule to the CRPC classifies offences under every other law by the punishment they carry — and the BNSS’s First Schedule sets out the same three bands.
If punishable with death, imprisonment for life, or imprisonment for more than 7 years.
If punishable with imprisonment for 3 years and upwards but not more than 7 years.
If punishable with imprisonment for less than 3 years or with fine only.
