In every case tried summarily in which the accused does not plead guilty, the Magistrate shall record the substance of the evidence and a judgment containing a brief statement of the s. 23, for “criminal intimidation” (w.e.f. 23-6-2006). reasons for the finding.
Sections of the CRPC are not classified one by one by any First Schedule. Part II of the First Schedule to the CRPC classifies offences under every other law by the punishment they carry — and the BNSS’s First Schedule sets out the same three bands.
If punishable with death, imprisonment for life, or imprisonment for more than 7 years.
If punishable with imprisonment for 3 years and upwards but not more than 7 years.
If punishable with imprisonment for less than 3 years or with fine only.
